Not Quite Nerf

Overview Target looks to have an increasingly diverse lineup on its blaster isle this next half of the year. One of the more anticipated is one of Dart Zone's new entries into the High Impact Round space, The Accelerator.  If you aren't familiar with their BallistixOps line and play or are considering getting into the Nerf Rival, you should give these a look. Specifications $14.99 at  Amazon 100 darts Waffle/Brick Wall rubber tip 72 mm overall length, 65 mm shaft, 12 mm diameter, 3.5 mm wall Overview I ordered these darts from Amazon after learning about them from BuffDaddy via  BlasterHub . They are packaged in the cardboard wrapped clamshell, protecting the product fairly well. Once you remove the clamshell from the box it hinges open - so much easier than dealing with a glued cardboard back. The foam is dense, feeling comparable to both the genuine Accustrike and Buzz Bee Precise Pro darts, though with a slightly thicker wall. The dart shaft is the same length as an Accustrike but a  mil  or so longer than the Precise Pro.  The head is ever so slightly domed and just a  mil  shorter than the Accustrikes, placing its overall length in the middle between a Precise Pro and Accustrike. I ran these darts through a pretty decent cross-section of blasters from my cache. All were stock. I will not...

Today we are looking at a pair of two shot pistols produced by Buzz Bee for 2017. They've been individually reviewed by just about everyone, but I've not seen a direct compare and contrast. This should fill that gap. Adventure Force Exact Strike The Exact Strike is manufactured by Buzz Bee for Walmart's Adventure Force store brand. It is packaged along with five "Exact Strike" and two "Long Distance" darts.  These correspond to Buzz Bee's Precise Pro and Long Distance Darts respectively. This package sells for the almost unbelievable $3.88  and is available in most Walmart stores. The packaging makes range claims of up to 100 Feet. The Long Distance darts are recolored in the green shafts with blue tips to match the Adventure Force color scheme common with most of their blaster line. The blaster is one of the few not released in Adventure Force green, instead keeping the Buzz Bee Precision Blaster color scheme, in common with the Exact Attack...

The Story So Far In the few days since I posted my original teardown article , a number of videos have popped up reviewing, discussing issues that folks have found, and even a mod guide.  I will continue updating the original article with thinks to other's reviews as I come across them. Issues Reported There are two more common issues reported with the Accelerator so far.  BuffDaddy and Out of Darts have both found that for batteries more robust than a 2S, the flywheels spin right off the motor shaft. This does not seem to be a breakage issue with 2S or "lesser" batteries. BuffDaddy has already been in contact with Prime Time Toys, and more remarkable, they have responded. Overview For today's entry, we are going to take a look at the newly released Adventure Force Tactical Strike Titanium HIR blaster ( Titanium for short ) and do a little comparison between it and its kissing cousin, the Ballistix Powerball.  The Powerball was released in blue last year as a Target exclusive in the US and as Adventure Force blasters for Walmart Canada in blue and Adventure Force green  as the Tactical Strike. I have seen reports that the Target and Walmart blues are different shades, but the websites pictures make them appear the same. It was the first entry by Prime Time toys into a section of the market established and occupied almost entirely by Nerf Rival products. The general buzz was impressed, particularly when you took into account the blaster's ability to use a hopper feed or a Rival stick mag and a price point nearly a third under the entry level Rival blaster. Today we'll be looking at the eagerly anticipated Adventure Force Tactical Strike Accelerator, produced by Prime Time Toys for Wal-Mart. Last year, Prime Time Toys surprised more than a few folks with their initial entry into the squishy foam orb launcher realm with the Ballistix Ops  Powerball blaster in their Dart Zone branding exclusively at Target . This blaster is also available, in Canadian Wal-Marts . This solid and affordable HIR springer picked up a lot of praise once it made it into players hands. When word appeared that we would soon be seeing another springer and  a flywheel blaster for what looked to be a very solid price, some of us got a wee bit excited. Competition is good. Affordable competition is even better. As of this writing, neither is available online at Wal-Mart and is slowly working its way onto shelves as part of the mid-January toy refresh.
